Nikon Love

Nikon Love

Ok, one of those geeky self-glorifying camera porn shots. Crappy lighting, but what the hey. This is just for fun. Most of this stuff is only a few weeks old:

Nikon D90: Received as a b-day present a few weeks ago. Great camera but still trying to figure it out.

Nikon F-801: Nearly 20 years old and still as good as new. "Inherited" it from my dad a few years ago and has served me well since.

Nikon AF 50mm ?/1.8 D: The best $100 dollars I ever spent (bought it used). Apparently one of the sharpest lenses Nikon has ever made.

Nikon AF 35-70mm ?/3.3-4.5: The original kit lens for the F-801. Not so hot (comparatively soft, distortion, zoom ring slowly disintegrating) but the only lens I had until recently.

Nikon AF-S DX 18-55mm ?/3.5-5.6G VR: Came as a kit lens with my D90 and is a great performer. VR is especially nice.

Nikon AF-S DX 55-200mm ?/4-5.6G IF-ED VR: Decent tele zoom. The VR is practically essential at 200mm. Cheapish plastic mount and no aperture ring... but for the price I can't complain.

Tokina AF 193 19-35mm ?/3.5-4.5: Excellent wide angle for film and FX format for an unbelievably reasonable price. Build quality is superior to my more expensive Nikkor lenses.

Nikon SB50 DX Speedlight: Good speedlight that I bought a few years ago before Nikon announced the SB600 and decided to axe backward compatibility. No TTL with the D90 :(.

My favourite lens (the 50mm) is also the cheapest of the bunch. That's life.

SB 600 @ 24mm @ behind the camera @ hitting the wall ceiling @ Triggered with on-camera Pocket Wizard MiniTT1 and a FlexTT5 on each flash.

Shot with Nikon D90/Tokina 100mm Macro f2.8 lens.

Inspired by a pic by Photographer Mukumbura which i saw on flickr some months back .. stayed on my mind and thought to shoot it ... loved the concept of 2 match sticks failed attempts to ignite a candle and 3rd one on its way ....

for the first time i tried Bokeh not with china lights ... will share in the making tomorow .... loved the results which it gives .. and its even cheaper the china lights ... lol
